after hours of debate, by the vote of 65 to 31.

Most Senators who rose in opposition to Sebelius during the sometimes tedious debate voiced concern for her connections to late-term abortion[ist]
George Tiller and her lack of candor over campaign contributions she received from him.
Dr. Tom Coburn, Senator from Oklahoma said today that late-term abortion is “barometer for the soul of our nation,” and that Sebelius
“lacks part of the moral clarity” needed to lead our nation.
“This is obviously a step in the wrong direction for our nation. With Sebelius, we can expect to see increased protections on predatory abortionists,
taxpayer funded abortions, and rationed health care that could cost lives,” said Operation Rescue President Troy Newman. “With this confirmation,
Obama is continuing to build a Culture of Death in our nation.
“However, we are encouraged that 31 senators rose in opposition to Sebelius. That is more that we had first expected and we are grateful to each

Washington, DC – Kathleen Sebelius was sworn in yesterday as the new head of the Department of Health and Human Services
after seven weeks of delay, hours of contentious debate in the Senate, and a narrow vote.
“We must remember that even though we did not block Sebelius’ confirmation, we started out this process with essentially no opposition to her.
She was a shoe-in that was expected to quickly sail through the confirmation process,” said OR President Troy Newman. “I remember praying
that we could get just one senator to vote against her at the committee level, and even that seemed like a daunting task. In the end 31 senators
voted against her. She needed 60 votes to be confirmed, and she only got 65. We were successful at making her nomination all about abortion,
especially late-term abortions that are opposed by 88% of the public. We were also able to expose Sebelius’ friend and benefactor, late-term
abortionist George Tiller, on a national level.
“Because of this, Sebelius has become damaged political goods,” said Newman. “She is going into one of the most important positions in our
government with a radical agenda, but with clipped wings that could impede her ability to implement that agenda. That alone is a small victory for us.”

What does the Word of God say about the God-ordained roles of men and women ?
God's creation-order design is for men to be the heads of households (e.g., Ephesians 5:22-33),
to be the elders and pastors of churches (e.g., 1 Timothy 2:11-15; 1 Timothy 3:1-7; Titus 1:5-9),
and to serve as civil ministers / magistrates in civil government. It is not God's perfect will for
women to rule over men in the family, church, or civil government (including the armed forces -
and it is not God's will for women to be the warriors-soldiers in a society). When women are in
headship / rulership positions over men, it is a sign, judgment, and indictment against the men,

The Sixth President of the United States, John Quincy Adams (son of John Adams, the Second US President, and a signer of the
Declaration of Independence), said: "The highest glory of the American Revolution was this; it connected in one indissoluble bond the
principles of civil government with the principles of Christianity." and "From the day of the Declaration... they (the American people)
were bound by the laws of God, which they all, and by the laws of The Gospel, which they nearly all, acknowledge as the rules of their conduct."
Tragically, today in 2008, American law has become exceedingly anti-Christian. Witness the government-protected murder of

The Constitution of the United States should be amended as first proposed by the National Reform Association in 1864, with a Christian Amendment:
Confession of the Saviour (Messiah) as the Ruler of Nations, including America, by amending the Preamble to the United States Constitution
In 1864, the National Reform Association advocated amending the Preamble of the Constitution of the United States to read, in substance:
"We, the people of the United States, humbly acknowledging Almighty God as the source of all authority and power
in civil government, the Lord Jesus Christ as the Ruler among the nations, his revealed will as the supreme law of the land,
in order to constitute a Christian government, and in order to form a more perfect union, establish justice, insure domestic
tranquillity, provide for the common defense, promote the general welfare, and secure the inalienable rights and the blessings
of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness to ourselves, our posterity, and all the people, do ordain and establish this
