Welcome to Call to Decision
Twins
Saved From Abortion!
December 5th, 2003 By Sharon Guengerich <><
Lisa holding Twins Devon & Daniel
Last year, on Friday morning, December
13, Lisa was at the Family Planning Associates abortion mill in
Montclair, California for an abortion. But, so were two Christians:
Gisela, a prayer warrior, and myself, a sidewalk counselor.
We are there, on the sidewalk in front of the abortion mill Tuesday Friday
mornings from 7 to 10 as a last ditch effort to "Rescue those
being led away to death; (to) hold back those staggering toward
slaughter."(Proverbs 24:11). Our tools are prayer, large signs of
aborted babies, lifesaving literature to pass out to the clients
as they enter the driveway, and, if they fail to stop and accept our
literature, my voice - to call out, "Don't kill your baby!"
as they exit their vehicles to walk toward the entrance of the
death camp.
Yesterday, for the first time, Gisela and I had the chance to hold two babies we were instrumental in saving from a gruesome death. Lisa, the mother, drove into the parking lot at Montclair FPA to show us her precious 5 months old twin boys, Devon and Daniel. As we held them she told us how she could see the sign of the aborted baby from where she sat in the waiting room and how the words, "Don't kill your baby" echoed in her mind over and over last December. As she laid on the table having a sonogram, the clinic worker told her she was carrying twins and asked if she was sure she wanted to go through with the abortion. Lisa answered, "Noooooo!" and left the abortuary.
Montclair
FPA does abortions on Tuesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays. There
are 3 driveways that need to be stationed with sidewalk counselors.
Right now there are only Gisela and I who cover one driveway, and
another counselor who takes over our driveway when we leave. Jesus
said, "The King will reply, 'I tell you the truth, whatever you
did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for
me." With all the churches in the surrounding area: Montclair,
Upland, Ontario, Rancho Cucamonga, Chino, and Claremont, where are all
the Christians? Are we too busy with our own concerns? Are the pulpits
silent regarding a hidden American Holocaust going on right now
"in our own backyard" and that we as Christians are
commanded to love our neighbor, especially the least of these, as
ourselves? Do we think being a Christian and going to church is just
about singing in the choir, and going to potlucks and retreats? Are we
so busy with kid's programs at church (which wouldn't be necessary if
parents were teaching their children at home as the Bible commands) that
there are no believers to do this urgent work of the
Lord?
And, have we been fed the lie that you can't share the Gospel while doing pro-life work? Many of the clients entering the abortion mills are ripe for the Gospel. They are at an extremely low point in their lives. Not only can we share with them the Gospel verbally, but we have Gospel tracts in the pro-life literature packets and to hand out to passersby. I am afraid the major problem in the church is apathy. Pastors would rather have "milky" sermons on the basics of Christianity than teach everything the Lord taught the disciples. In Matthew 28:20 Jesus said, "...teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you." Are the sermons you hear week in and week out about having enough faith for your problems? That sinning is bad? To have quality time with your kids, after they come home from spending most of the day at the government schools - the devil's playground? Or, how we need to be faithful tithers so we can expand the church facilities? Just as most German Christians failed to come to the aid of the persecuted Jews, we American Christians are committing the same horrendous sin. We had a chance to elect a godly pro-life governor with the success of the recall Gray Davis. Did your pastor encourage the flock to vote for the godly candidate? DID HE DARE MENTION HIS NAME? Did he even mention the recall??!! Or, was he afraid of losing the tax exemption status of "his" church, more than teaching and preaching (at this crucial hour) what God would have him ? What kind of gospel are the pastors preaching, anyway? A pretty weak one if you ask me. How our churches would fill up if the whole Gospel was preached and the church would display the power of God. Many of us could sacrifice some time to pray and/or counsel in front of our local abortion mill. "'Could you men not watch with me for one hour?" he (Jesus) asked Peter." Matthew 26:40. To where will we "Walk by Faith"? Not just to church I hope. And, how does that saying go ? "Many hands make the work lighter". Pray about your priorities and what you are able to do for the least of these - the unborn - on their way to the slaughter. this,"
