Weekend celebrating sexual immorality planned for Portland
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Immanuel Baptist Church in Portland Years ago I compared Portland to the Biblical city of Sodom.  I'm no prophet.  I don't have to be a prophet, however, to conjure the comparison when I realize that Immanuel Baptist Church is leading a discussion about an evil propaganda film called "For the Bible Tells Me So" on Sunday.  The historic Immanuel Baptist Church (pictured here) is part of the denomination that help found the League.  The American Baptists have been sliding away from Christian tradition and orthodoxy since that time, over one hundred years ago.  Our staff has prepared a report on this weekend's Portland activities.  I hope that you will take a few moments to inform yourself.  I'm seeing the early stages of this same plunge into irrelevance in larger evangelical churches here in Maine.  Pray for your neighbor today.  Us little people CAN make a difference.  God loves to use the weak things of this world to shame the wise.
Protect Homeschooling
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Focus on the Family is reporting that a California court issued  a ruling that could affect up to 200,000 homeschool students.  According to the ruling parents who don't have a teacher's certificate should not be allowed to teach.  This outrageous ruling must be confronted.

You can do something right now that will take only a few seconds.  Below you will find a link.  It will take you to an online petition.  Fill out the form and help us protect homeschooling in America.

California creates trends for the rest of the country.  Homeschooling is a hard fought right in Maine.  The price to maintain this critical right is eternal vigilance.

More and more parents are going to choose homeschooling for their families.  It is a great choice.  Paulie and I homeschooled.  We are glad that we did.

I am writing to you from the lobby of the Samoset.  In a couple hours I will join with hundreds of fine Christian families who homeschool.  This is the weekend for the annual Homeschoolers of Maine (HOME) Convention.  We must do everything we can to secure this movement.

I spoke with my good friend Ed Green, the leader of HOME, last night.  He told me that the movement continues to flourish here.

Help us keep it that way.  Click here to sign the petition right now.  Make sure you forward this email to all your friends and invite them to sign the petition.
