Marriage amendment killed by Massachusetts legislature as 11 more "good" elected

officials sell out to homosexual lobby during final hours. Worst defeat in

Massachusetts pro-family history.  If you are not

angry, maybe you should be.

This demands a completely new political strategy by pro-family movement!

=== 1.  What happened?   ===

Last Thursday, in arguably the worst defeat in Massachusetts

pro-family history, eleven "solid" pro-family senators and state representatives

switched their votes at the last minute to support "gay marriage" and

permanently kill the Marriage Amendment. No one on our side saw it coming. What

we did see at the State House was a sea of celebrating, gloating homosexual

activists and our state's top elected officials congratulating them on their

victory.

=== 2.  How did it happen? ===

At a time like this, a brutally honest assessment is necessary. This is

extremely serious. A lot of people put in enormous time, energy, and financial

resources into this amendment. And this has deep consequences not only for

Massachusetts but for the country.

The evening after the Constitutional Convention, MassResistance's Amy

Contrada sat down and wrote a short but powerful commentary piece on the

MassResistance blog that sums it up. Since then, it's been reprinted on other

web sites and sent across the country. Several pro-family people have said that

it reminds them of the same problems that our movement has around the country,

and this may be the beginning of our side finally "getting it".

". . .Prayers without compromising the truth may work. Prayers when the truth

is compromised cannot . . . [The marriage] campaign failed because the debate

was boiled down to 'letting the people vote' and ensuring 'children have both a

mother and a father.' But it left out the important truth about homosexual

'marriage': It's based on immoral and unhealthy sexual perversions. Morality and

public health needed to be part of the debate."

say "I really don't agree with that." Later, you say "Let's be reasonable. How

about if you have my children for half the time, and I have them the other

half?"

This is a pretty honest description of the approach of the mainstream

pro-family movement in America. It has consistently lost, and it will continue

to lose. It did nothing to stop the Fistgate incident in 2000, the David Parker

incident, the Little Black Book, years of the Day of Silence, the homosexual

Youth Pride Parades, and millions of taxpayer dollars funding homosexual

programs in your schools.

(Here's just a recent example of what the mainstream pro-family movement is

too polite to bring up - one of the "Gay Pride Week" events in downtown

Boston on June 8. But THIS is the movement that wants to go into your

schools and "sensitize" your children.)

A whole new mindset is in order. Let's look at some reality that we should

have known:

* There is no such thing as a permanently "good" elected official. It's

human nature that political power and its trappings and pressures corrupt

people. It's a natural process and you should not be surprised when it happens.

Remember, both Ted Kennedy and John Kerry were both once pro-life. Sometimes it

happens faster with some than others. Only one thing stops that; constant

pressure from you. Our forefathers knew that. They said "eternal vigilance is

the price of liberty." In other words, they all need constant, unending

pressure.

* Politicians will believe illogical nonsense unless you constantly

force-feed them the truth. Having native intelligence makes little

difference. That's been proven a lot recently in the "homosexual marriage

('equal' marriage) is a civil right" debate.

* The most effective weapon against a totalitarian enemy is the truth.

And if you are afraid to tell the truth, you will lose. The more filthy and

disgusting and uncomfortable the truth is, the more it needs to be told. A

corollary: The other side will always attempt to suppress the truth. They can

only win through lying, deception, trickery, illogical arguments, and cute

political moves. That won't work for us.

* It never works to compromise on "culture of death" issues. We always

lose that way. Remember when America thought it could compromise on slavery?

Anything less than a total, principled stand is useless. The other side is

different. They can effectively use incrementalism, creative compromises, and

other dishonest devices to reach their goals. If we do it, it will only set us

back, as the last 60 years of the "culture war" has demonstrated.

* There are people who do bad things and who are evil. This is a much

more difficult concept for people in America to grasp than Europeans, because so

much evil befell the Europeans in the last century. "Evil" itself is a term

rarely explored in postmodern society. The otherwise pleasant doctors with

distinguished careers, but who performed experiments on children in Auschwitz -

Were they evil? The civil servants who systematically starved people to death in

the Ukraine in the 1930s - Were they evil? They thought they were being

'progressive'. What kind of person would publish "The Little Black Book" which

tells young people about urinating on each other as a sexual outlet? What kind

of people would involve children in the extreme violence mixed with the

homosexual and anti-Christian message of the play "The Laramie Project"? Or

counsel kids about experimenting with cross-dressing? What inner emotional

issues are they satisfying at the expense of the psychological rape of other

people's innocent children? Or those who enable it? Are we dealing with evil or

not?

* Unchecked, things will get much worse. This is a train that is just

picking up steam. Please believe us: You cannot imagine how bad it will get.

Don't even try. Hint: Hate crime legislation is just the very beginning.

* All totalitarian movements are at their basic level a house of cards.

They can only continue to exist by fear and lies. Some are able to carry on

longer than others, but they all eventually are forced to collapse. The "gay

marriage" movement - and the homosexual/ transsexual movement in general - is no

different. If we do nothing else, we must keep up the constant unrelenting

pressure against it.

Thus, to start with:

If we do nothing else, fighting back is the minimum we must do. A constant,

unrelenting, uncompromising pressure will always have an amazing effect. The

truth has an incredible power. History is on your side.
