The government refers to the NAFTA Superhighways at the Federal Highway Administration as "high priority corridors" or "corridors of the future." SH 130 in TX is the first segment of the Trans Texas Corridor under construction. Interstate 69 (now being converted into a privatized toll project) was designated an international trade corridor" in 1995 by Congress. TxDOT's own Draft Environmental Impact Statement for TTC-69 says this Trans Texas Corridor will be a toll road, not a free interstate as originally promised. It also has morphed into a a 1,200 foot wide "multi-modal" corridor beyond the normal 200-400 foot wide interstate. The "myth" claim is to make us look like the tinfoil hat crowd, but their own documents provide all the proof you need. In the Town Hall Meetings for TTC-68, TxODT repeatedly referred to the need for these corridors to facilitate international trade. What trade? That governed by NAFTA, CAFTA, and the massive influx of cheap Chinese goods coming into the U.S. via Mexico.

Here's some links:
Private partner to build TTC-69
SH 130 non-competes and ability of private operator to control our freeways
SH 130 acknowledged as part of TTC:
Corridor of the future (NAFTA superhighways)

Then go to the home page of the TURF web site and click on the TTC-69 Fact Sheet. It tells about the international trade corridor status designated by Congress in 1995...
