Just how popular is GW's continued aggression against the Iraqis?
Never mind the polls, no matter what you believe or disbelieve of
them,
the best indicator for Americans may be the number of U.S.
soldiers
who, in increasingly higher numbers, are DESERTING.
According to Duncan Campbell of The Guardian,
(Mar.28,2006) "hundreds of deserters...are now seeking
political refuge" in Canada.
"An estimated 9,000
soldiers have deserted since
the aggression into Iraq in Mar. 2003, with about 400 now in
Canada. Deserter Ryan Johnson, 22, is quoted as saying, 'I had
spoken to many soldiers who had been in Iraq and who told me about
innocent civilians being killed, and about bombing civilian
neighborhoods. It's been really great since I've been [in Canada].
Generally, people have been really hospitable and understanding,
although there have been a few who are for the war.' A test case in
Canada on whether the U.S. deserters are elegible for asylum is
expected to be decidied soon." (This info was gleaned from the

Allison Park, near Pittsburg.)
So, not only has GW made us hated by the entire Muslim world, and
by many Euro
peoples, and many North and South Americans, now we have the
DISTINCTION of
having our own troops desert their services in ever-increasing
numbers. Add to this the
voicing of unkind sentiments toward the aggression's operations,
by former military officers, and GW's VERY negative poll results,
and you have a very across-the-board mix of cynicism toward an
administration which has unendingly lied to us, hidden truths
that should be public, violated the Constitution and its oath
of
office repeatedly, and made lawful citizens the subjects of an
expansive POLICE STATE
OPERATION in the name of security. (As I've said many times
before, for those of you who know me, NECESSITY MAY BE THE MOTHER
OF INVENTION, BUT IT'S ALSO THE MOTHER OF TYRANNY!!)
Popular? It's amazing to me that this administration has ANY
support whatsoever after
all that's been disclosed about them, which has left their
credibility at ZERO. Yet, for all this negativity, this
maniacal--or should I just say EVIL!--administration continues
threatening Iran and Syria, even to the point of using
"limited NUCLEAR" strikes. (GW sure is
the strangest of "compassionate," "tolerant,"
"conservative," "Christian" persons, given his
actions during his reign; a real Dr.Strangelove
personality if ever there was one.)
Apparently what's popular has no meaning for people when
POWER and CONTROL are their modus operandi. And as the old
saying, which still holds true, says,
POWER CORRUPTS, AND ABSOLUTE POWER CORRUPTS ABSOLUTELY, holds sway
with, and fits to a T, Bush & Co. What the
constituency thinks means squat to the megalomaniacal neo-cons now
running the nation like a pack of Communist Tyrants.
And these are the same people who eat, breathe, and sleep THE NEW
WORLD ORDER in which they believe they'll rule and control all the
