The most quoted text by  New Testament writers?
        Psalm 110:1 "The Lord says to My Lord: 'Sit at My right hand until I make Your enemies a footstool for Your feet.'"

        So the carols proclaim the same message
                          "He rules the world with truth and grace" and
                          "Let earth receive her King!"
        
        "Now therefore, O kings , show discernment;
        "Take warning  O judges of the earth. . .
        "Do homage to the Son, that He not become angry."  (Ps. 2:10-12)

It is not simply about Jesus in one's heart, but about messiah's rule in the governments of the earth:

        "Let justice roll like a river" (Amos 5:4) and let the "Law of God go forth from Zion" (Is. 2:3)
        
For justice to prevail, the Law of  Christ must be the basis for civil law.

         Result: PP and NOW sought "transfer of assets," but the court directed plaintiffs to file motions.

I plead the Fifth:

"Hold them guilty, O God; by their own devices let them fall!  In the multitude of their transgressions thrust them out, for they are rebellious against You." (Ps. 5:10)

And the Ninth:

"Arise, O Lord, do not let man prevail; let the nations be judged before You.  Put them in fear, O Lord; Let the nations know that they are but men." (Ps. 9:19,20)


Let the cities and towns proclaim Him Lord, shunning the robed rogues who practice anti-Christ tyranny in the federal courts.  Will a righteous mayor (a civil ruler) stand for  the Law of Christ the Lord against other tyrants?  A governor?  Which pastors in a city will support such a righteous civil ruler? 

Optimism for the world's history

"All the ends of the earth will remember and turn to the Lord, and all the families of the nations will worship before You.
"For the kingdom is the Lord's and He rules over the nations.
"All the prosperous of the earth will eat and worship, all those who go down to the dust will bow before Him, even he who cannot keep his soul alive" (Ps. 22:27-28).

(Let's get confident, aggressive, and assertive!  Declare that the Kingdom is here and that He reigns.  Judges would do well to bow down to Him and honor his Law.)
        
The Churches of God
It is the job of each church, "the pillar of truth" (1 Tim. 3:15) to supply the truth to the magistrate so he can know what justice is.  The ministry of the church is more than getting souls saved. It must inform the magistrate of his duty as a "minister of God" (Rom. 13).  Their pastors, speaking in behalf of their church, must represent the mind of the church from the Scriptures.  They have preferred to let their members speak as citizens, rather than to speak for their churches on matters of morality, ethics, and law as representatives of their congregations.

Semper reformata semper reformanda
        So must the churches of God ever be: always being reformed (by the Word) and always reforming (with the Word).
