NEWS ITEM: "Federal

(Associated Press, Sept. 15). No, this is not a joke. This actually
happened. If you think that this nightmare will be solved by
anything less than taking back our courts, you are very wrong.

=== 1. Homosexual activists continue to harass
Boston church over program on ex-gays; plan confrontation this
Sunday at noon. This could happen to you! ===
If you think that your church is safe, think again. Already, in
Canada churches and church leaders are being harshly silenced for
activities deemed "hateful" of homosexuality. It can be
quite brutal. And it starts with public threats and intimidation.
You may remember when (current State Representative) Carl
Sciortino and his homosexual lover (and other activists) made
headlines disrupting a Catholic Mass over their objection to the
Catholic Church's stand against same-sex marriage. It was horrific.
There's been more. This past June, homosexual activists picketed
a church in Natick that allowed David Parker to speak. And last year
lesbian activists went into a church, stood up in the sanctuary and
yelled "Heil Hitler" during a talk on homosexual issues
they disagreed with.
Now, homosexual activists are targeting the Tremont Baptist
Church in downtown Boston because they have scheduled a presentation
in their church next month featuring ex-gays -- people who have
successfully left the homosexual lifestyle. Claiming to the
Boston Herald that this is somehow "designed to suppress their
voices and rights" Boston-area homosexual activists, led by a
group called www.queertoday.com
has been conducting various acts of harassment against the church
and its parishioners.
They have planned a demonstration -- and confrontation with
parishioners as they leave services -- for this Sunday, September
18, at noon. We aren't going to ignore this outrage. We
will be there, too. If you want to get involved, give us a
call!

=== 2. First Article 8 Annual Banquet this Oct.
17. A speaker you won't want to miss. ===
Mark your calendars for Monday evening, Oct. 17! It's
Article 8 Alliance's first annual banquet.
"The Resistance in Massachusetts:
Lessons from a Holocaust Survivor"
Our speaker, Stephan Ross, is a survivor
of ten Nazi concentration camps including Auschwitz, and lost his
entire family except for a brother. He is the founder of the New
England Holocaust Memorial in Boston. He will reflect on the
depths of evil that can be reached once society lets down its
guard. He will inspire us to not turn away, but to face our
challenges here in Massachusetts.
Each year there are fewer survivors like Mr. Ross still alive who
can bear witness to what happened. You will hear things that are
unimaginable. You may not have another chance to hear a speaker like
him.

=== 3. Gay lobby organizes huge turnout at State
House (see photos) as Travaglini-Lees marriage amendment voted down.
===
As expected, the joint Legislature meeting in Constitutional
Convention defeated the deeply flawed compromise Travaglini-Lees
marriage amendment (which had passed last year and needed one more
vote in the Legislature before going to the voters). Since it both
eliminated same-sex marriage AND mandated civil unions in the
Constitution, the homosexuals and we both didn't like it.
(Until recently, the "compromise" wing of the pro-family
movement still supported it.)
Unfortunately, more Republican moral collapse was also there to
be seen and heard. To quote the Senate Republican Minority Leader,
Brian Lees (who had co-sponsored it), "Today, gay marriage is
the law of the land...Gay marriage has begun and life has not
changed for the citizens of the Commonwealth with the exception of
those who can marry who could not before. That is why I would vote
no today on this amendment." Not exactly what we wanted
to hear.
The "other" marriage amendment ignored.
Last week we reported that our "clean" amendment (which
was intended to be a bill, not an amendment) that prohibits both
same-sex marriage and civil unions, might be considered. But, no.
They ignored it. The fight continues.
But what was really disturbing was the show of force by the
homosexual lobby. Even though the amendment faced certain
defeat, they brought in hundreds of people, both inside and outside
the building. Believe us when we say that it was organized
like a presidential primary event. Slick signs, stickers, handouts,
you name it. Very well-orchestrated, with trained area coordinators
using walkie-talkies. They even got enough people inside at 8:00 am
(the meeting started at 1:00 pm) to get ALL the seats in the
gallery, and even had a crowd on hand waiting in line when anybody
had to leave. Very well-planned, well-organized, and
expensive.
Since they knew they were going to "win" (because both
sides wanted the same result) the homosexuals it as a rallying /
cheerleading event, actually claiming "victory" to the
news media. Interesting psychology.
Take
a look at some of the pictures here.
=== 4. Mass. Lieutenant Governor (a Republican?)
announces full support for civil unions. Watch out if new
"unclean" amendment gets signatures & passes! ===
Ho, hum. Another Republican public official caves in a
little more to the homosexual movement. This past week, Lt.
Gov. Kerry Healey told the Boston Globe that she doesn't quite favor
same-sex marriages, but she supports civil union legislation because
it "provides a legal framework for the protection of same-sex
couples." Of course, this begs the question: If Healey
feels that homosexual liaisons are legitimate and not destructive --
why not let them marry? (We think that privately, she agrees
with that, too!)
As Gov. Romney looks like he's going off to try and become
President, Healey becomes an important part of the picture.

And as you know, the newest proposed amendment from the "VoteOnMarriage"
coalition not only "grandfathers in" and continues to
recognize all homosexual "marriages" up to 2008, but it
also allows the Legislature to create civil unions! That
makes us very worried.
