Party Ballot Access Drive Shifts Into High Gear In West Virginia!
It appears
that for the first time in its history the Constitution Party
stands an excellent chance to achieve ballot access in the
State of West Virginia! The following is a report
from Jeff Becker, the petition coordinator for the Constitution Party
of West Virginia, on petitioning progress in the Mountain State:
"After a successful weekend petitioning for
ballot access in Martinsburg at the Apple Harvest Festival parade
(Saturday) and craft show (Sunday), I am happy to report that the
Constitution Party of West Virginia has just about reached the one
third (1/3) point of our goal. According to my records, the CPWV has
collected 6500 voter signatures. Our goal is 15,000 valid signatures
of which we plan to collect some 20,000 in total."
The (first) deadline in West
Virginia to complete petitioning and turn in signatures is next May
(2008), but the West Virginia Constitution Party petitioners hope
to be completed well before then.
